Has anyone had a master cylinder resleeved at one of the shops that advertise in the magazines (like White Post)? I wonder if I had my 1950 redone if it could be sleeved to 1953-54 specs (smaller bore), just a thought. Thanks in advance Ross.

I have thought of that also. All it would take is a 1/16" thick sleve......why don't you give one of the "sleveing" places a call. The 7/8" bore 1953-54 M/cyl does use a different casting as you can see its slightly more slender in the "bore" area.Other than that the 1953-54 stick M/cyls. do come up on Ebay frequently and sell for a reasonable price.I would install a fresh kit in it though.
Yesterday I adjusted up the brakes on my '50 a few notches. After the Colorado trip and a lot of mountain driving the pedal went down about a inch or two and I will be leaving for Ohio next week with the car......just can be more pleased with the improved brake performance.Inatalling the 53-54 M/cyl. was the best thing that I ever did. :)

I do NOT know about resleeving a 50 to 53-54 specs.

I DO know about White Post. Excellent Service. Everything as they said. The work. The time involved. The shipping. Etc. Etc.

I highly recommend them.

Oh yes, it was a master cylinder for my 42 Chev. No changes; just done to "original."

I've only used White Post's services on one occasion; and it was very pleasant dealing with them.

I live 8 miles east of DeKalb Il.on route 38 in a small town of about 1300 and am the Village President of our town. We are about 50 miles west of chicago and about 3 miles north of I:88 which runs thru DeKalb. It would be out of your way as 294 is way east of us. I hope to meet someday. Ross
