I am replacing 4.22 center housing intact with torque tube, with the same except it is 373. from a 1938 Chevy. With only the diff.opened from the rear I can see that the ring gear has very little clearance with the axle housing, and I hope the 373. ring gear will not be larger around. The 373 has 41 teeth, and the 4.22 has 38.

It must pass through the front opening and will do so with ease.
