i understand that the 54 powerglide starters are a higher amprage, a stronger starter than the 3 speed models. could anybody tell me what the part number is for the pg starters and the number for the 3 speed starters. i have a few spares and if i have a pg core i would like to get it rebuilt, seeing mine is sooner or later to go, i dont think it has been gone over. also if anybody has the generator number for a 54, i would like to check that also, thanks guys

Bill, here is a copy of the 1954 on-line parts catalog (you can check out the 54 starter information)
