All you need is a little common sense in tightening smaller bolts. Generallly speaking the rod and main and head bolts should be torqued to specs. In 1941 the manal listed no torque values, few mechanics even had a torque wrench, and no problems occured.

Went for drive this morn to bring engine up to temp then did a compression test and I still have 96lbs on #6 cyl. Other than a miss it is running fine. So some time in the future a valve job is on the list. Thanks again.
