Anyone have experience painting wire spoke wheels? Did you use a small spray gun or a large gun and fog the paint on? I've heard some guys spin the wheel while applying paint. I know about powder coating but I need body color Henbury green and not sure I can get an exact match. Thanks for any help.

This is how I did mine. I rotated the wheel in order to always have the gun in the same position. ![[Linked Image from i1176.photobucket.com]](http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x324/landman2/Wheels%202nd%20coart%20004.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1176.photobucket.com]](http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x324/landman2/Wheels%202nd%20coart%20010.jpg)

When I painted Barkers wheels on his Landeau, I used the same gun I used to paint the rest of the car. I have a 3M PPS gun, mfr'd by Graco but I can't remember the model number. I used a wide spray pattern to paint the overall on the front, but from the rear I think I adjusted the pattern to a real narrow fan to direct it onto the backside of the spokes. But then I adjusted it back out to my wider fan pattern to cover the overall. I chose to paint them with single-stage because the binders are a lot tackier than BC/CC.
