Just got this car a few months ago and was trying to get defroster rewired when I noticed the battery was installed with pos to ground and neg to starter, I know it's supposed to be neg ground, can I just switch back to original configuration with no issues? Everything seems to be working correctly. Thanks

I would try switcing the cables to corect and re-polarizing the generator.
To poloize, with the battery connected jump between the Gen. and Bat. terminal.....enought to just make a spark. I use the blade of a screw driver.
If the ammeter reads backwards switch the wires on the back.
