Hi.
My 1924 490 Superior 4 Door Sedan is finished and running after two years restoration. The car was found about 10 miles from my home here in Scania, Sweden. It was imported 2010 and was stored in a barn for five years without any work done. Obviously someone had started a restoration before export to Europé as the engine installed was a 1925 K-Engine which did not fit properly.
I installed a 490 Engine, restored the whole interior and upholstery - used the old seat covers after washing and mouse repair. The body paint is the original, green with fenders and footsteps repainted. The car is close to original.
The car number is 2F52725. As there were only around 300000 Chevys made 1924 it must be very early in production - a number 23 was found written on the upholstery. Also a service note on the left front door shows the car has been in Massachusets for service at Lundins Service Station sometime.
My question: Does anyone know the manufacturing date and even someting more about the car?

Regards Olle

Olle,
I have 1924 Superior Car number 2F22980. It was produced in late Feb 1924. Below is what I believe is the serial number range for 1924 2F cars derived from Ken Kaufmann and David Hayward. By my calculations your car was made sometime in late August or early September.

Olleschevy; The number 2= Tarrytown New York..The F=1924....It was the 42725th car built at Tarrytown that year. All Chevy factories started their car numbers with 10001.
