Hi Ray
It's the female dove tail that screws to the body of the car then the male dove tail screws to the door and it keeps the door shut if this is wrong what should the dove tails look like on a 1928 Chevy ab tourer

I thought that it may be a European version of the door dove tail socket. The USA is very different. I suspect that the missing one will have to be made. Doesn't look too difficult to a metal fabricator or blacksmith.

Can't help you as my '28 Coupe is 120 miles away. Maybe someone else has one closer and can post a couple of pics.

I am working on putting a depression style 28 roadster pickup together. From what I have found that is the style of the open 28s. The closed cars were quite different. The one I have came from Dick Oldenberg when he was finding homes for some of his old parts. If I can not come up with another one I will just make something out of solid plastic. It is somewhat hid under the jamb on the latch post. The spring is the part I would be concerned about holding up on a reproduction.

I don't think a plastic one would hold up. There are people that can duplicate the part in metal. If you have a vise, pliers and can heat steel red hot give it a try.
