If somebody wants to know me(why?) and my car, this is the link.
Pay close attention to the engine space, the motor mounts, the oil filter, the glass expansion vase and the foolish bride, who asked to have her picture taken with Mahalet, to our utmost pride and joy.
Not a perfect car(ran out of money), but it runs well and we have lots of pleasure together, so pardon the unfinished bumpers painted in aluminum, the general air of cuba...

Mahalet, National Chevy Association has the valve cover nuts (2 Chrome acorn nuts also the rubber valve cover rubber grommets. You can order online. National Chevy Association
I couldn't see enough of the valve cover to tell if they use the same threaded stud and nuts as the US version.

What kind of rocker arm cover is that?A South American version.Looks like its attached by the two center studs like a pre 1954.

What do you need stove bolts for?The later engines actually used a flatter pan head type screw. The stove bolt had a round head.

Now I can put a face with the person I have been corresponding with the last few years.

Mike: Yeah! Won the million dollar question!
Gene: Always tought the cover was made in the US, as few people here use them. But it was made for the 216 and I wanted to use so installed the rocker shaft mounts for the 216 in the 261. So I have to get some acorn nuts for it, to complete the kit. No big deal, but agreeable to see when you open the hood. Gene, flatter pan screws around the cover? That´s what was in there originally.
Thanks also to Mr Mack for the tip.
Did you all looked carefully at the engine bay?

Yes, indeed there are some differances, would like to have one of those 261 engines, my spares are (2) 53 PG engines (1) 54 passanger car engine and a (57) 235 truck engine. I also have a spare 54 rear end up to,the bell joint and Ujoint, a spare 53 and two 51 trannys. I also have a couple of truck bell housings and a 216 flywheel, and a couple of 57 truck flywheels. I don't have a Panama hat like that one, just one of those big old Hoot Gibson sombreos.

Mack:
Thanks for the hat comment. It´s made in England, so subject now and then to short circuits... laugh
Lots of good 261´s in here for low money. Nobody wants them here and if you can figure out the best way to import them I could try something for you. PM me at jrmahar@gmail.com

The intake for a 261 is the same as a late 235 and a 261 carb is only a bit different than a 235, you can use a Rochester model B, from a 235 and get decent performance by changeing the main jet or using a 2x1 barrel manifold and 2 Rochester B carbs.
