OP Rivard Shade Tree Mechanic Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 46 Michigan , Essexville	I am getting spark outside the engine. The rod at the spark advance plate is sparking. I am able to get the car to idle but has no power to move it. I have a new reman distributor with the old internals. Not sure if it is correct but I installed everything the way I took it out. Both sides of the points stay grounded all the time. I open the points and check continuity and it shows it is still grounded. Is that correct. Very confused. Paul
