Hi,
Any feedback on harness kits for a Chevy 52 Styline or similar?
Got these two so far: http://www.americanautowire.com/shop/
https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/dept/Electrical/cat/Wiring.html
But with so many types I'm confused on which one to go to...
Thanks!

Looks like the American Autowire harness is a modern vinyl covered replacement or for street rod with other features. The Chevs of the 40s has the original type cloth covered harness. That harness is likely made by YnZ Yesterdays Parts or Rhode Island Wiring Services. I understand that Harnesses Unlimited Narragansett Restorations also sell an original type replacement harness. I would suggest contacting the folks that make the harnesses directly. You can search for them online.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

I agree wit Chipper. Buy from one of the manufacturer. That way if there's a problem you don't have the middle man to contend with. I've only used Rhode Island Wiring. They're great people to work with. I've heard good of Y&Z but never used them myself...Joe

I went with YnZ on my 48. Looks original and wasn't that hard to install. Had one problem and a phone call took care of it.

Half the stickers are off, other half are coming off as I straighten up some small glitches...

The PO of my '37 removed most of the wiring tags. Whenever I now need to work on an electrical problem or add something, such as turn signals, it's a hassle and more time consuming In wiring my '46 project the tags will stay on, just in case future work by me or the next guy needs done. Repeated crawling out from under a dash or under the frame to trace a wire(s) wears my old bones out much faster these days.

After so many years of anticipation to get the 48 running again, I flew threw the wiring job and left the coding stickers on...It was 5 years before I went through and removed them all...Of course leaving a nice bright clean stripe on each wire

The wires are all colour coded with different style and coloured hash marks. You really need your reading glasses on to decipher them all though...

If you're keeping it stock, RI Wiring Service is the best!!! Cloth covered over plastic coated with the original wire markings. All harnesses come with excellent wiring diagrams!! My harness for my 51 was perfect with all the right bends and connectors and everything worked great!! Prepare to shell out some money but anything great comes with a price!! Highly recommended and cust service was awesome!!

Yah if the wires were not coded to match the instruction sheet it would be a much more complex wiring project...If you match up your YnZ harness with the wiring diagram in the back of shop manual, you will find the colors and markings are close to exact
