Every day I learn something new. I seems our all original barn find circa 1930 isn't quite all original.
Carb is toast. To many years of sitting. I discover that it is not a Carter rjh-08 150-s as would be stock on a 1930. Sometimes the carb was replaced with what I think is a Carter UT. (Among other things the accelerator pump is shot and not possible to be precise on model).
So in my mind the best idea is to try and find one right for the year. But the 150-s seems difficult to find.
So looking for ideas. This is not a show car at the moment but it's fun when it runs. So anyone with a thought on best approach.
And yes if anyone has a carb either rebuildable or ready to run I'd love to talk. But barring that any idea on what could make a good, usable replacement with not to much agony?
Thoughts welcome as I'm out right now.
Don

See adjoining article on Air Cleaner for a Tillotson Carb on a '31 Chevy. These come on the market in good order for as little as $50. I bought a NOS one 4 years ago for $45.
