Is anyone able to tell me if the one on the right is a GM Jack? I'm pretty sure the one on the left that I just wasted a day cleaning up is out of a Dodge Aspen. I knew that car would come back to haunt me again!!

Can anyone post a pic, or send me one to my email of a proper 1951 jack?

I have sent you pictures of the jack from my 1950. That jack was used by cars sold in the US from 1949-1954. There is a W stamped into the ratchet for Walker , the maker of the jack. They also made mufflers, some of which were used by GM. Their plant was in Racine, wisconsin. They made jacks for mant makes of carsds.
The ratcheting part has a roller built in the rides on the smooth side of the post.

Thanks Gene. I called Dad tonight, and he's said that he remembers throwing the original jack away. The ratcheting mechanism broke on it while the car was in the air, and he didn't want anyone else finding out it was broken at a later date with the car in the air.

I just got another call from Dad. He found what he thinks is the 1951 jack, as it has a green base as he always remembered. It must be the one from the 1950 that got thrown away. I'll post pics when I get it on Friday.
