Since I can not search the forum I will just ask this question!

My 32 Confederate does not have a rubber mount between the frame and the engine bracket. Isn't the 32 supposed to have a rubber mount between the frame and engine bracket?
I have the radiator out to repair the crankshaft pulley/balancer and want to address the engine slack/vibration problem while I am so close to the front of the engine.

Thanks in advance!

The 1932 Chevrolet does use a front rubber motor mount and 1932 was the first year for rubber motor mounts.

The motor mount does not go between the front cross member and the engine crankcase plate. The motor mount goes under the front cross member and the two studs on the crankcase plate go down through the two holes in the front cross member and connect to the rubber motor mount underneath.

Thanks JD
No rubber in the rear engine mounts and front sitting on the cross member makes for a rough feel taking off from standstill.
Looks like the rubber mount under cross member is bad too.
Front pulley balancer is loose so I'll just fix it all while I'm at it.

There are two rubber motor mounts on each side of the motor at the rear and also a rubber transmission mount under the transmission as well.

You might want to pick up a shop manual, an Owner's Manual, the set of 1932 Chevrolet Service News (12 issues), and a 1929-32 Chevrolet parts book from the Filling Station in Lebanon, Oregon. All the above are available in reprint.

Some information on the 32 is in the 1931 Service News so I suggest you get both the 31 and 32.

Thanks JD
I have purchased several parts and the 32 Service Manual from The Filling Station. I will check on the other publications you mentioned on my next order from them. I am looking for an old Motor's Repair Manual that my dad had put back from years of automotive repair. I have found the Motor's Repair Manual that goes back to 1935 vehicles but I know that when I started helping him in the garage in the 1950's he had a manual that went back to 1929 (I think). I grew up working on cars (and hot rods) in the 50's and 60's with him and he still has all the old tools and many old parts from back then. He is 88 years old now and is still a good source for info on old cars but he doesn't do much work on anything but his own vehicles.
The restoration on my 32 4dr Sedan was done very well except for several things in the drive train that were done wrong or just neglected so I am starting at the engine and will go to the rear fixing everything I find that needs attention.
