I feel a vibration and hear a knocking noise around 40-45 mph. So I opened up the ball joint and find that the tourqe tube bushing is loose. I do not recognize the u-joint as the typical type. The yoke on the tranmision dose not have bearings or bushings but the cross pins are large enough to be clamped by the ring. The ring with the 4 bolts is not a pressed metal but solid steel machined to fit. The drive shaft yoke has the the 2 bearings. Can you tell me what I am dealing with?

It may take a while, so I will try again. Instead of the 2 part pressed metal rings that clamp down on the bearings this has 2 piece machined steel that clamps the bearings on the drive shaft yoke but on the transmission yoke the pins or cross has no bearing but is the same size as if the bearing was there. Now when the rings are bolted together the trans yoke can swivel in the machined hole and the drive shaft yoke swivels in the bearings. Is this a Canadian thing or an after market or a Frankenstein u-joint?
