Ok so my generator was pegging the needle at + 20. Had the generator rebuilt, put on a new lock out switch. Now the ammmeter reads -10. Even removed the batt wire and still read -10. Any ideas on my 30 standard coupe

"Lock out switch"? Do you mean a new cut-out relay?

Did you polarize the generator after you installed it on the car?

If your amp meter stays on -10 after the power is disconnected then your amp meter needle is probably stuck.

You have to polarize the generator.

To adjust the needle, if needed, you will have to remove the ammeter and then remove the bezel that is crimped to the ammeter housing, and then remove the glass and the face plate.
