The data plate on my 4 door sedan is missing so I don't know when or where it was built. I bought the car in Canada just across the border from northern Maine so it could have been built in Canada or in the USA. I believe it is an early 1925 based on the headlights being mounted on the fender, the spark and throttle controls mounted on the steering wheel and the horn is mounted on the firewall. The windshield is not a VV windshield, it is fixed it place and appears original to the car. The research I've done on the windshield is conflicting. Some sources state that 1925 had VV windshields and another source says 1926 was the first year.

My question: Can an early 1925 built in either the US or Canada have a fixed windshield instead of a VV windshield as original equipment?

Captain D, all my 1925 booklets as well as my 1925 salesman's book ("How to Demonstrate Chevrolet") show the VV (Vision & Ventilation) windshield.

Good Morning,
I also have a 25 Superior 4dr sedan, made in Oshawa Ontario.
(Has been in the family since 1927).
The things you describe are the same as mine, except it does have the double V roll up windshield.
Would be interested in discussing your project if you have the time.................Joe..............

Thanks for the information. On the "Filling Station" website it states in a tech article that the VV windshield started in 1926. I want to keep my car original but if the windshield was replaced with a fixed windshield sometime in the past I will have to start looking for a VV windshield.

Next question: Could a fixed windshield from a year prior to 1925 fit on an early 1925 model?

Joe,

I do have time. What would you like to discuss?
