Has anyone here used these oil products? I was thinging of using the oil supplement on my old 235 engine. I know most additives are just over claimed products that do nothing to improve old worn out parts. But you never know.

I think you were right. I know most additives are just over claimed products that do nothing to improve old worn out parts.

In the late 40s and early 50s oil for the most part was just oil, some additives such as Rislone, or CD2 could provide some detergent and cleaning ability to the oil. In my mind most oil marketed today that meets any car manufacturers specs probably is all you need. I do still add a little MMO to the gasoline for a top lube but could be wasting my money there.

Modern dertergent oils contain all the additives that are necessary.
Anything that smells as good as MMO has to be good

I would never use any additive with the name of The Prince of Darkness. It may short circuit. Ask any old english car owner...

I agree with mahalet.I tried the oil additive in the diff of my 1929 Old's which is moaning a bit,not too bad considering it's never been touched since '29,but it never made a shred of difference to the noise. i think that all these after market additives just line the pockets of the makers.

Mahalet, I wasn't aware that Lucas was a form of Lucifer....I learned something today, Thanks....
Wizardsmith, I agree, kinda like all of those money making seminars, they make money for the bunch putting on the seminars....
One of the auto parts stores really push Lucas stuff, it makes them a high return on their money.

In the industry all those additives and special oils were know as "mouse milk". Not much there and only benefit to a baby mouse.

Lucas must be making a lot of money...they sponsor several vehicles in NASCAR....plus they wasted (my opinion only) more money on a "theme bike" from the father & son team on TV, but of course that would be a tax write off too...so we pay one way or the other or both ways.

Hi 35Mike, "Down under",saw dust is for noisy gearboxes,we grow that many banana's here, they are the better option for a noisy diff, all nice and slimy when mixed with diff oil.

change your oil regulary, the price of oil is a lot cheaper than the price and problems of an engine or drivetrain rebuild....if it is broken or wearing out nothing will fix it...it can only hide the faults at best until it detonates!

Long long time ago, friend and I worked on a used car lot did detailing and minor repairs, boss took a trade had a slightly noisy transmission so we opened it up (top loader) it was full of hamburger which has a somewhat offensive smell after a few thousand miles!

Gator, sorry, it´s Karma. in another vein, my diff used to be a little noisy, as the gear box. Have put on them something useful: Molybdene Disulfide, known around here as Molykote, with good results in the noise.
