I am about to reinstall my wood cabin on my truck. I would like to protect the wood though.Wood I used is the ash . Looking on the internet I saw several opinion about the protection of the wood is varnish or oil but neither seems it out. What is your opinion on the subject? What did you use , varnish or oil?

I restored my tailgate. I used a system used for wood marine applications. Epoxy 6 coats, spar marine varnish ( with uv protection) 10 coats. All sides of wood (encapsulate) Wet sanded between coats. Turned out fantastic and will handle weather exposure.
