This is one of those things that has been nagging me for a long time. Today I received a new exhaust system and, as predicted, the tailpipe outlet is round. The 1933 Master Model is the only one I know that is supposed to be oval! This came to me gradually over the years. I had no rear hanger when I bought the car but ordered a NOS tail pipe and the outlet was oval. Years later I found a car in a junk yard with an original rear hanger and it is for an oval outlet. I have done some research and find:
1929-34 parts manual photo shows the '33 Master tail pipe as oval after the final the final bend.
D. Sylvain judging guide for 1933 Master says tail pipe outlet should be oval
1933 Chevrolet Passenger Car Engineering Features on line shows the Master Model tail pile as oval on pages 10 and 55.
I will be writing to the supplier in the hope he will consider this at least as an option on '33 Master orders.

Gene,
Thanks, I left it at Midas this afternoon along with the old one that I think they made for me about 25 years ago. All they have is a bending machine and thought it may not be possible but I also left the old one with them as a sample. Should know result tomorrow.

Let us know how it turns out! Good luck and I have seen that style pipe. So I know it is out there somewhere.

Midas only had a machine for bending pipes so it didn't turn out very well. Fortunately most of the big dents are on top under the gas tank and hopefully the rear apron will cover most of the smaller ones nearer the end.
