The switch is correct including the color. In 1942 the switch was a light biege to match the steering column in the Master Deluxe and Special Deluxe models. The Fleetline had a dark brown column and the biege switch did not match. Also the same for the radio contro on the Fleetline.
Roger does a very complete researc when he restores a vehical and you can bet that it will be correct. I have seen that car in person several times and it is as good as it looks. If you are going to Tahoe you can visit with Roger, a very nice gut to talk to.

I have never seen a 42 Aero so I'm very intrigued...The sculpted bumper tips are awesome as well...Not to mention the trunk handle assembly, no plain Jane for the 42

If you look on the 1948Chevy site he has two of the lighter colored signal heads displayed along with a dark 1947-48 unit.
Note that the light colored units did not have a chrome handle.

Roger & Mary's 42 is one of my favorite cars of all time. Such a history and its restored to perfection!

I sent for a 1942 accessory brocher (from Faxons)...it says the switch and lever are chrome plated.
This was printed earlier in 1941 and may have changed to painted by the time they went into production.
