The copper mesh in missing in my 1931 air filter. What does one use to replace it?

Get a copper ribbon type scrubbing pad, rinse out soap if there is any, carefully stuff pieces of it through the slots in the air cleaner. It takes some time and practice but can be done. Old dental tools (ask your dental hygienist to save some for you) are a big help for some of those tasks.

You can find the copper scrubbing pads at a Dollar store.

Or you can take the easy way out and purchase one from COT 40s or the filling station

Yes Harbor Freight sells them but, they are inferior quality and not free like those being discarded by all dentists.

Many thanks for the courtesy of a response. But the Filing Station recently said that they don't sell the air filters, unless I talked to the wrong person.
