Does anyone happen to have a picture or measurements of the wooden rear regulator boards on a '32 coach body? I'm in the process of making new ones(my car doesn't have any) and I have an idea of what they should look like but I thought it might be worth a quick check with the professionals. Here is a picture of my current situation.

I see nobody has helped yet, but I don't have what you need.

I can see what I think are recesses in the two upright wood posts that should give you the height and width of the plywood board. The height is important, so that the garnish moulding can be screwed into the top edge of the board.

The pocket for the window regulator is the most important measurement. If you still had the door panel, or get someone to measure where the door handle hole is on a finished car, that should help.

As far as how the opening or recesses look like for the regulator, the front door board could be copied?

I have a pretty good idea of what the board should look like from the front door regulator boards but you're right about the regulator position, in order to work properly it should be in the right spot.

I can copy the front board to some degree but my idea of a board still might be off from what an original board looks like.

Auto wood has a good diagram but of course it doesn't show measurements.

It would be good if someone here could measure the location of the window handle on even a finished car.

But if not; you might assume that the height of the handle hole, should be the same height as the door window handle hole?

Then to get the front-to-rear position of the handle hole; the lifting point roller on the regulator lift arm, should be centered on the lower glass track...

I would guess the regulator only has one lifting roller? If so, that roller might have been at the true center of the glass, if the window was 1/2 down. A single arm swings in an arch, so common sense says the roller would be centered with the glass halfway down.

Louis,
What is the distance between the two vertical posts?

I believe that Autowood Restoration in Hanna, Indiana has the wooden regulator boards available.

I agree with Frank as the recesses in the post side and lock side door frame is where the regulator board goes. I can measure my 4 dr. when I return to Clemson...I thought a coach was a two door....

I have a 29' Coach in my shop right now for an interior. Do they use the same regulator board? I loaned my parts manual out to my friend. If so, I can remove the board real quick and take some pics and measurements.

No.

You might want to purchase another parts book so that you will still have one in the shop to use when you loan the other parts book out to friends. bigl bigl

Hey guys, my car measures 30 7/8" in between the metal part of the window opening and 32" between the wooden frame.
