I finally found my over heating problem. With the head off I found a crack in the cylinder wall. I may have found a 235 engine. I just had new exhaust put on my 216 and wondered if the exhaust from the 216 would bolt up to the 235.Thanks Bob

Depending on the crack location possibly sleeving the cylinder could repair the block. The 216 manifold outlet is smaller than the 235 and will restrict exhaust flow and not mate with your present exhaust pipe without modification.

You would also have to use the 216 intake as it will not bolt to the 235 exhaust manifold. Someone used to make a stepped intake ring to do this, but I have been unable to find the manufacturer or seller.

There is a guy here in Connecticut whom has a 216 motor that is rebuilt and ready to go. If interested let me know and I can contact him. I am sure it will be reasonable as he wants to move it. He is putting a small block in his 47.

I suggest you investigating the rebuilt engine more thoroughly. There are plenty of shipping brokers that can get heavy items shipped relatively quickly. U-ship is one that I have used more than once.
