Trying to figure out if my Oil Bath air cleaner for my 1950 deluxe is correct (original 216). On the top it has 12 "raised" portions or "rays" extending out from the center. Can someone describe the oil bath cleaner for 1950, and is it the same as for other years (and which years). Thanks.

From your description that is the correct optional oil bath air cleaner for 1950-54 passenger cars.

It seems most cars that were sold west of the Mississippi had the optional oil bath filter.....must be a carry over from the dust bowl days of the '30's....or there were a lot of dusty gravel roads in those states.
