Here is a problem that doesn't always happen but its annoying and I can use someone's help. after driving 10 15 minutes sometimes when accelerating the engine will stall or get choked out and once it backfired. If I let up on the gas petal it will idle once again and run normally???? Is it a timing problem the carb has been rebuilt. Any help would be appreciated.

Try advancing the timing about 5 degrees using the octane selector on the distributor....see shop or owners manual. Also if the heat riser is "stuck" it can cause a problem during warm-up period.

Try pulling the choke all the way out until the engine stalls for a second. Then push back in all the way. Do this several times to clear any crud in carb. just in case there may be some that has got in there.
