Recently I bought a '32 Chevrolet roadster as a restoration project. It's been a while since I've played with Chevrolets (mostly a Studebaker guy). Back in the late seventies and early eighties I ran Vegas as daily drivers and had a lot of fun with them. I had almost exclusively 71 to 73 GT wagons with 4-speeds. I was in California at the time so rust was not a problem and once I sleeved the engines they ran great. Never had a problem finding parts --- the junk yards were full of Vegas.
Anyway, I also bought a '73 Vega wagon as a daily driver parts-getter while I play with the '32. Not any Vegas in junk yards here in NW Louisiana now. I'm looking for a hood release cable. Anybody have one or a source I might try? The plastic sleeve that fits in the mechanism failed. I can still open the hood by pulling on the end with a pair of pliers, but it would be nice to be able to use the original release.
It's amazing how many people are shocked to see a Vega running down the road. Everyone has a story (some good, some bad)
Thanks. Tom
