I have posted questions about this truck before, but this time I have a little more information.
Engine number is MR 5560340
Previous owner says it is 1928 Maple Leaf
Further questions:
Did Chevrolet make a 30cwt truck with dual wheels?
Did Chevrolet make a 1928 truck with a 6 cylinder engine?
The plate says (in pounds)
Chassis: 3940
Body: 1200
Load 3360
Gross: 7650
The plate is stamped Holden so this is an Australian made body?
What distinguishing features would make it a Maple Leaf?
I have posted a photo of the truck on the site somewhere but not sure where.

I dont think that is a 28, looks more like a 35 but I could be wrong. The wheels and grille are what I am going by.

The verticle hood louvers would make it a 1934 or 1935. The engine number a 1936.
May not be the original engine.

Thank you. Interesting that the engine number is for 1936. It's obviously not 1928.

MR in the serial number indicates it's for a Right Hand Drive Standard. The unit number indicates it was built in October of 1935 making it a very early '36 motor (as Gene said).

So my best description would be:
1935 Chevrolet 30cwt truck. (Not Maple Leaf)

Thanks for the help.

It's very possible it was imported to Australia as a cowl chassis model, & that Holden cab added later. If it's a Chevrolet Maple Leaf Truck, it would have had two "Maple Leaf" name plates attached to each side of the hood. Do you see any holes on either side where the plates would have been. Do a google search for, images Chevrolet Maple Leaf trucks, & you'll see where to look.

I don't know how these trucks were branded in Australia, but in Canada in 1935 the trucks sold by Chevrolet dealers that were 1 1/2 tons capacity or less were branded as Chevrolet and the Maple Leaf brand was used for 2 ton trucks.

If the truck or chassis was originally from Canada, this chart with series, body codes, capacities and wheelbase as offered in Canada may help to identify your truck.

In case you can't clearly read the chart, the key information for 1935 is:
Series EB on 112 inch wheelbase is Chevrolet 1/2 ton
Series QA on 131 inch wheelbase is Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton
Series QD on 157 inch wheelbase is Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton
Series HX on 141 inch wheelbase is Maple Leaf 2 ton
Series HX on 165 inch wheelbase is Maple Leaf 2 ton

Hope this helps. Tom
