Hi guys, need to know if anyone has personal experience in ordering a stock cam and lifters from any particular supplier...need to put one in my daily driver, '54 3100, solid lifters, all stock. I'm looking for someone on the other end of the order that would REALLY know what I need.

Also, do I have to take off the pan to get at some bolts to remove the timing chain cover?

Thanks,

Bob "the re-Builder".....

I have a friend that ordered the 3713919 new camshaft from Chevs of the 40's--its also the correct cam for your solid lifter 1954.He is very satisfied with it-runs good-idle is smooth etc....but get that new cam, not a reground. If you install a higherlift cam stronger valve springs will need to be used.(no timing chain-just gears) order a timing gear and the 3702305 thrust plate for it while your ordering I would also replace the steel crank shaft gear. so get the set.

The pan must be removed because the two lower timing cover bolts come from " behind"
