Included in a group of parts I recently acquired were two steel spare tire covers. Both are apparently Chevrolet rather than Aftermarket. They are about 30" in diameter with a center opening 6" in diameter and have two stainless trim rings: One that goes around the outside edge (about 30" diam) and one that attaches at the widest part of the tire sidewall (about 24"diam). Here are a few photos; can anyone tell me exactly what they are and a guess as to their value?
Those are for a 1933 Master. Side clip hooks gave it away. Do you have the stainless steel bail clamps for the sides? There are three for each cover. How about the back halfs of each cover? Do you have those? Without either of those parts and in the condition I can see in the pictures Id say well under $100 each?

Thanks Jeff! I don't have the bail clamps or the back halves, only what I showed. And one of the bowties is missing. Thanks for the info..... and if anybody's interested, make an offer via PM. They definitely won't fit my '29-'32 cars.
Happy to help.....but the thanks gets passed to Bruce and Dave for my education on the differences between the Metal Tire covers only about three weeks ago!!!! Just passing it along.....would love to see your collection of Open cars one day when down in NC.......

I would appreciate some pics if you have them showing the overall diameter of the outer cover and the diameter of the hub cap opening. You can email them to me at: peter.venezia@gmail.com Thanks.
PeterV, The "35 Standard cover has only a stainless ring around it's perimeter. No Bowtie and an oblong slot for checking the air in your spare. An "L" shaped extension is required for taking advantage of this feature. I have never had one or seen this extension. I have at least one extra cover for '35 Standard if none of yours are correct.
According to The Filling Station catalog 1933 master is is 6-3/4" OD. 1934-1936 standard is 7-3/4" OD. 1935-36 master 9" OD. with a 7-3/4" wheel opening
Looks like I have a 33 spare tire cover. It is closed, has the stainless outer ring on the edge, and the stainless inner ring and the porcelain bow tie. The other one I have has the large center opening that exposes the spokes of the wheel with the stainless ring around the opening. 3 arms on the back half that attach to the spare tire mount.
Mike, Looks like neither of the spare tire covers I have are for a 35 Standard. I would be interested in one you have. Can you send me some pics? You can email them to me at peter.venezia@gmail.com Thanks
