My '51 Chevy (we call it a Franking-chevy because it's cobbled together old hotrod style) has a 350 ci engine. It's casting number on the rear of the block 14093638 GM 5.7 liter. On the front just above the water pump there are 2 series of numbers/codes: V0213FLLCHS and 147478. Any clues as to what this engine came out of? Also the heads casting number is 10088113.

Howdy,

Welcome to the VCCA Chat Forums. You'll find most of the info here about stock Chevys, but a few of our members have modified ones too.

Although I do not know the answer to your question, here's a link to a similar question (same block number) and its answer:

The FLL portion of the code has me stumped. But the rest of the code checks out like this:

V = Flint plant
0213 = Feb 13
FLL = ???
CHS = 1978 Camaro 350 170hp 4bbl

147478 is the numerical sequence of the car.

The heads check out to be 1988 350ci aluminum heads with 1.94/1.50 and 58cc chamber.

Thanks to 37Seagrave for the feedback. I had found similar info as you gave, but it is in conflict with the engine casting number at the rear of the block 14093638. This indicates an 87 to 95 350 with one piece rear seal. ? ? ?
