What mirrors?

Rear view camera?

What are other drivers doing?

My '50 convertible has bad blind spots, especially with the rear window zipped up. Mirrors on the passenger side are pretty useless. My solutions are...

1.) Neck exercises for lane changing blind spot checks

2.)Continual situational awareness of what's going on around all 4 corners of the car. Not following cars in front too close aids in the couple extra seconds of attention diverted to the rear of the car.

3). It's not on any of my cars, but perhaps a stick on convex mirror to the passenger side would help out a lot. Works on new cars... that's how we know the idiots are always closer than they appear! Up here in Canada, we also get that warning in two languages!

Those accustomed to the finest...find it in Chevrolet.

For my '57 Nomad I have the two accessory door mounted rear view mirrors plus the stock (for a passenger car) inside day-night mirror. For driving if gives me all-around vision. for backing-up the normal back glass compares to a sedan-delivery and poses no problems and better than a modern mini-van.

I've got the two repro door mirrors....

will add the stick on convex to the drivers side...

and have ordered a convex pass side....from firesteelclassics

and soon as the adaptor arrives I will change the std rear view mirror for the day/night

Anyone played with a back up camera and wired it to be on anytime the car is running?

This is by far the best solution IMHO. We had a saying in the para transit biz--when in doubt, GOAL (get out and look).
Saves wear and tear on the insurance policies. LOL

Finally, I suppose you could go to one of the aftermarket accessories folks, spend your remaining greenbacks, and buy a rear view camera like the new cars have.
