I'm looking for the side mount location on a 32 body. My fenders are '31 and my body is '32, where should I drill the exterior mounting hole? I could get it close by measuring it up but I'd like the exact measurements from chevy if someone has them.

Also, is there a difference between a '31 and '32 rear frame cover? With my '31 frame and '32 body the rear cover does not fit the frame quite right, maybe something was bent a little before the bodywork was done? When the bumper brackets are removed, the mounting holes at the rear of the frame don't match up with the holes forward on the frame because the cover hits the crossmember right in the middle. The cover hits at the red arrow when the orange and green holes are bolted up.

One last question, are my side mounts '31 or '32?

Thanks guys!

There is some detailed drawings with measurements in the 31 service news. I am sorry I don't remember which one.

When I painted my rims, I put seran wrap around the mounted tire,
painted the rims , removed the seran wrap then inflated the tire.
no tool chips that way.
good luck

The info is in the January 1931 Service News, page 4. Not sure if the 32 location would be different since the tires were different size? It shows 15" from the bottom of the sill to the hole center and 4 29/32 from the front of the dash on closed bodies.

Good luck
