Ladies and Gents
Anyone know where to buy a hub puller, I broke my homemade one and driving around in circles has not worked. The wheel to be removed should be on the inside of the curve maybe it does not matter, maybe I should spray some PB blaster on it.

I am not making a plug for this auto store, but..... at my local Autozone you can rent (use for free) many different types of pullers and other auto related tools. Maybe check with your local auto part supply house and see if they have the same program.

Rustoholic looks like you had lots of fun making that puller. Ken

I was thinking about my hub puller for my 1953 Packard while I was posting my quest. I had to remove the wheel all but hub to get wheel nuts on studs (that type plus from stud and not hub cap) and messed up a stud in the process but I got it off. That was disk wheels.
I put on wood spoke, the Sears puller I got would not work on that, you need an old fashioned puller. I would like to have one of those anyone know someone making them? Ken

I made mine out of a steel hubcap. I think these were made for trucks but the threads are the same. Drill a hole in the centre and weld on a nut. Screw in a bolt with a tapered end and you're good to go. I always always loosen the nut a few turns and drive around the block making both left and right turns to get the wheel loose.

That's a good thing. I gave one to a cousin who owns an engineering works to modify. He said "Not a problem". A week later it came back untouched along with four others that he had made up in a CNC. Same idea just a lot heavier.

This is old but for the people that use the search functions. I thought I would add some info. I could not get one of my wheel hubs off and tried everything. Even made up one of these https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/galleries/227893#Post227893I almost broke down and purchased a custom puller here: http://customhubpullers.com/But I decided to sacrifice a dust cap by cutting off the top and using a traditional puller and it worked! ![[Linked Image from s31.postimg.org]](http://s31.postimg.org/pszi7dhbr/20160421_194814.jpg)

Didier, congrats!! Looks like a good solution.
The hub caps are much less expensive then a hub puller.
Cheers, Dean

All of you need to be aware that George McMurtry is a long term VCCA member. Not only does George make hub pullers but can often help with other tools and information on how to make and/or use them. He is a real asset of the VCCA.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
