Quick question but can anyone recommend a good shop that can make the seats/door panels look like the original way they came out?

iagree

Question for you. Do you still have the original interior? If so, could you e-mail me a close-up picture of the lower part of the front seat and door panel. The vinyl part. Interested in the color of yours.

Can you believe it has been 4 years since you placed that order. I would not be surprised if that price has not increased by 10-20%. mad

And, yes!

Well Russell, don't have the original any more...I did use the original lower seat vinyl as an example when I placed my order, it was a very close match. Here's the HC kit after 4 years.....If you remember I could never find lower door stainless...I had them made out of sold stainless, not a cheap date

Russ: My 47 Sportmaster still is still wearing the orig seat material and the lower part of the seat. I suspect the 47 is diff from the 48 but would get pic of it if you think they are the same. Looks diff than Bruce's.

1947 had a rich brown. 1948 was a gray/brown. Chevrolet described it as light brown.

To my eyes it is a darker (richer as Gene said)brown with a slight dark redish tint. Has a definite grain texture.

Thank you all for your input, I had a local shop quate me about 4K but they do not specilize in older vehicles. Will look into what has been suggested. So 5k for paint and about another 5k for interior. Pocket change!!!!

I did go to the Hampton website and saw they have an authorized installer in Mesa, not far from me. Funny thing is I had this old lady with her dog talking to me yesterday at my kids soccer practice and told me to go there for interior work, appernatly her husband collected cars and would go there. I thought she was just needed someone to talk to, proved me wrong.

I still would like you to e-mail me a close-up picture of the vinyl on the door and bottom of the seat. My e-mail is under my profile. Thanks

Wow, a talking dog ! rolllaugh Now that is unique. Looks like you found a way to get your interior done close by. Sometimes things work out much simper than originally thought.
Good luck and pls keep us posted on the progress.

i think you need to research the HC fabrics,
i have found the "correct" color of mohair i needed for my 35 that HC did not carry.
was expensive, but it`s better than the color options i was given from them.

I had sent fabric samples from my 48 seat to 4 different vendor and never found even a 90% match...2 of the vendor not even close and the other 2 had the same fabric which was in-stalled...I had debated over the fabric for year and with no interior...I finally excepted the only real option as you can see my choice above
