I am trying to find what the correct height of the front coil springs is supposed to be. And or the curb height of the front bumper. My '48 Fleetline Sportmaster is sitting a little higher than it should be. Thanks

To top of hood ornament it is 48 5/8"....I am assuming that is the production hood ornament.
Your car sits high in the front because Bill installed aftermarket coil springs in it. He likes cars that "sit up" in the front end.

Am I correct in assuming that dimension is correct for all '48's ?

Yes, because the hood line is the same for all. The roof measurements vary due to different models and a loaded and unloaded figure.

Wouldn't there be a slights diff between ones with 16" wheels vs ones with 15" or did all Sportmasters come with 15"

My understanding is ALL Fleetline's came with 15" wheels standard. Optional on all others.

That does bring up a good point.

All 1948 Chevrolets came with 6.00X16 tires. The 6.70X15 low pressure wheels and tire were optional on all models..
There was very little difference is height as the 15" were fatter.
The 16" were 27.4 tall and the 15" were 26.8. That would make the 16" make the cars .3" taller.
Different brands could vary that amount.
They all used the same speedometer gears.
