I recently purchased a 1924 Chev Superior to restore. I noticed the carburetor is a Simmons Carburetor which from the information I found may not original in these cars. Any one know what would have been originally in the car. Where would I find a rebuilt kit for this carburetor? Thanks

The Simmons is a replacement. Don't know where you can purchase a rebuild kit. The original carburetors are: Zenith T4XF, Holley SC or Carter RB-0. That is unless it was built in Canada. They also used a Stewart.

Welcome to the VCCA chat forum. You've come to the right place. The 1924 Chevy used three different carbs; Carter, Holley and Zenith. Become a member and you can have access to all the people with the knowledge to help you with your car. Gary Wallace sells rebuild kits, www.20schevyparts.com. There are others as well that sell parts for old Chevys. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the information. I just started working on this car and am trying to get it started before tackling the restore. I will keep in the Simmons for now but eventually try to source an original carb to put in.
