I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and my car. I've been reading posts for a while as I work to get my 1931 chevy coach in driving condition and I've found this site to be very helpful along the way. I'm putting my car back to as original as I can with the parts I can find or make myself, but not doing a full restoration. I'm currently working on getting the windows installed. I'd like to find someone else in northern colorado who I can look at their car and use as a reference. Do any of you live in or know someone in northern Colorado with a 1930-1932 chevy? I'll try to get some current pictures of my car soon.

Art Davis in Golden, CO has a '32 Coach. Is a long time VCCA member and also Mile High Region. If Golden is close enough send me a PM and I'll give you a phone number. Or if you are a VCCA member you can look him up on the member roster.

Thanks Dulty and Chipper, most of the things I'm running into now are little things like how the throttle linkage routes, where the wiring runs, how the front windshield mounts and that sort of thing. It is the little detail pictures that I'm looking for, thats why I'd like to find a local car to take a look at as needed. Golden is not too far away, if you could send your friends contact information I'll gladly look him up. Louis

Hope this picture works, this is a my car from a couple months ago, I put a coat of paint on the running boards since then. Any tips for cleaning black paint off of whitewalls? ![[Linked Image from i1082.photobucket.com]](http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/ljbro88/AF12EC9A-5E9F-45ED-A90E-2556B3640364_zpsbwgkmhl4.jpg)

Hello Louis and welcome. It looks like a 32' body on a 31' chassis if I am correct. (Saw a picture of the cowl tag and the tag confirms that the body is a 32') I noticed in your picture that you don't have any splash aprons on the car but have them in other pictures. If you want to put them on you will need to raise the body some as they slip under the mounting areas. I thought if you were going to put them on, then now, before you progress any further is probably the best time to do it.
I have many pictures of the total restoration of my 31' 4dr and I will try and download them on a disk. I, like you, were new to the Chevys with many people here a world of information and help. It seems the windows and windshield are always a question mark for most of us. Luckily they are pretty basic when you get into them and logical design takes over helping us to understand the design.

Christech, Thanks for confirming the '31 chassis, I bought this project as boxes of parts and pieces. so putting everything together has shown some interesting challenges. I've made a habit over the years of calling this project "the '32" when talking about it with friends only because it is titled a '32. I've started calling it a '31 recently to be a little more visually correct. I think what happened is this car is it went to illinois from northern california 15ish years ago and survived a hot rodders shop as a parts car, he wanted the '32 look for his '31 so he swapped everything to this car and sold the rest to me. As it turns out, I ended up with some '32 parts and some '31.
I did get the splash aprons on, I put a layer of paint on them and slid them in between the body and frame with a thin layer of rubber to reduce rubbing.
Anyway I'm doing the best I can to preserve this car and enjoy it on a budget. Some day I hope to fully restore the car, but not this year.
Do you know where to get good replacement window track? And are there patterns somewhere for back window wood? Specifically the piece that holds the window crank?

Louis, Looking at the motor, trans, and other items I could see in the pictures, it looks like a 31' to me but I'm far from an expert. Guys like Chipper and Junkyard dog are the guys who KNOW. If you're talking about the rear side window regulator boards, I really can't help on a two door like yours. Jim at Autowood could probably help you. I don't know if he sells drawings for them. Possibly any of the wood kit guys could help if you ask them. You might also find someone with an old regulator board for sale if you post it in the wanted section.
The rear window track is not cheap. I did see a vendor who had it about $2 cheaper per foot than most but can't remember who it was right now. The average price is around $7.50' and you will need about 28-30' or so. The money adds up quick in rubber parts.

This is the stuff I call "window track" and correct me if I'm wrong. I'd like to replace this with the same stuff or something that looks/works the same. Does the filling station sell this stuff? ![[Linked Image from i1082.photobucket.com]](http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j369/ljbro88/F4B7601D-17B2-4B97-B00B-FDA923600430_zpsvih9v6w2.jpg)

Does the filling station sell this stuff? Yes. You might want to get one of their catalogs or you can check out their catalog online at www.fillingstation.com
