I'm looking for an oil pan for my 61' 261 oil pan and came across one for sale with a GM part number #3767946. Can someone look up this number and verify if it's the right one?
Thanks

I have a sorce saying it fits 1959-1963 Trucks. Chevrolet changed part numbers on 235-261 oil pans on a monthly bases. It will fit ant 1955 and up 235-261 block. The question is where is the deep section of the sump located and the baffle.. Due to running changes on those pans some even came with a new oil pick-up pipe and screen to give it universal coverage.

Was the 261 used in 63 production? On 4-WD? There are other part numbers listed for the desired pan in the book

The was a handful of 1963 1/2 ton 4 wheel drive trucks made in the beginning of the year with a 235 engine and a 261 optional. The new 230-292 was the "normal" engine in 1963.

Thanks for the information. The plug is on the front side of the sump located under the baffle. I was pretty sure it was a second series 235/261 pan but just wanted to be sure. Actually what is a bit different on this one and why I asked is that the plug is located on the bottom portion of the pan vs. the vertical sump drop. My thought is that It could be a replacement part.
