I fired up my 1928 Chevrolet sprint car today. This is the 1st time it has ran in over 60 yrs. What amazed me was how quickly it started and ran very smoothly.

I did used a new model a carburetor because the carburetor was missing when I got the car. It has a early version of a vertical magneto with lots of hot spark. I also used an auxiliary fuel source.

Putting a battery to the starter and it cranked over a few times with the choke on and then it just took off and ran great.

What really surprised me was when I added water to the Whippet radiator and continued to top the cooling system off there were no leaks not even the water pump.

I ran it off and on for a couple of hours no over heating no leaks just kept running smoother and smoother. there is no exhaust manifold so the red hot carbon sparks were quite evident on acceleration.

All in all a damn good day.
