Hi and Happy Easter!

I am replacing the headliner in my 1938 Master Deluxe trunk back spoty sedan. I need replacement wire on welting. You know the cloth and metal trim above the doors that hides the tack strip.

Anyone know where to get it? I see that Chevys of the 40s sells it but with the windlace, which I do not really need.

Thanks!

I believe it's called windlace. The upholstery shop where you got your headliner should be able to make it. The upholsterer that did my coupe made mine.

Tiny, I think he is looking for the "Hidem" welting that hides the windlace and upholstery tacks. Most upholstery shops have it.

It is called hidum. (spelling?)...it folds over and hides the nail heads. To look correct it should match the windlace.

I believe it's called wireon and Hampton Coach sells a variety of colors.

You nail on the thin side then fold over to cover the nail heads.
