Since the engine on my '32 is out for a rebuild, I thought I'd take the radiator to a shop for an inspection and cleaning. Good thing I did. Every tube was clogged bad ! Luckily I found an old school shop here in CT that specializes in hand rodding and repairing antique radiators. They were amazed the engine ran at all. That explains the needle preferring the HOT side whenever slowing down or stopped.
Anyway, I stumbled upon an in-line filter device that is designed to catch any rust/scale being thrown off by the block from entering the radiator. Even after my engine is hot tanked and coolant passages scraped clean of scale, I thought this might be a clever monitoring and prevention tool. I'd like any feedback from anyone running one of these ? Obviously not original, but either are many of the fuel filters we use and it could always be removed for judging I suppose
