Can anybody ID a couple of rear ends by their serial numbers?
I have SI844034 which I think is 1934 Standard & I have SI688534 which I think is 1936 Standard. Both are 5 lug which could only be 33 to 36. The one I have that I think is 1936 has hyd brakes & outboard mounted drums w/ 2 screws holding them on. Thank you, Joe

'34 Std brake shoes are narrower than '35 Std shoes. The'35 Std shoes are the same width front and rear, I believe to compensate for the larger, more powerful (207 C I) than the engineused in the '34. Up to and including '35, the rear axle shafts nust be removed to access the shoes; '36 and later the brake drum can be removed without disturbing the axle shaft. '36 was the first year for hydraulic brakes. I own a '35 Std coupe. I hope this info helps you! My car is presently in storage, so, I don't have access to any numbers on the axle housing.

Boy! that concrete is cold this time o' the year. I looked under my '36 Standard, Town Sedan on the rear end it reads 374640 but mud is hiding the first number could be a 5 or 2. Then I looked at the '36 1/2 ton truck to see 377707 so I think on the car the first number is a 3. Both were made in St. Louis in the last 1/2 of 1936. They both have hydrolic brakes. Hope this helps you. truck 6 lug car 5 lug
