I cracked the driver's side glass during installation of the glass and all of the accompanying hardware. It was new glass using the original runner but new track (fuzzies). The window went up vary hard and then suddenly cracked. I had not done any adjustments prior to this and I am still not sure how to adjust. Can someone recommend how to make sure the tracks are aligned and how to make the glass roll up and down easily?

Did the new glass have the exact same dimensions as the original glass?

Look at this link, page 75 is highlighted. Then look at pages 140 and 141.

This Fisher Body Manual is 1949, but should be similar, if not identical to your 1951.

Same thing happened to me? Did you ever figure it out? I'm going to give it another go this weekend. I have read the adjustment pages too.

Here is an earlier Chevytalk post on this topic. Maybe some useful info.

Excellent advise especially the part about leaving all the bolts loose till things are moving smoothly. 100 percent silicone can't hurt either.
