Hello,

My brothers and I are about to start working on a 1926 Chevrolet that my 89 year old father has had stored away for a while. I was hoping that I could get some assistance with the number plate decode. The car is a Canadian Car built in Oshawa, Ontario. The plate has the following stamped on it:
top row - V102118
bottom row - 2205327

Any help is appreciated.

First row is the serial number. Second number is the engine number. You will find this number stamped on the right side of the engine.( Somewhere between the distributor and the back of the engine.)
What body style?

wblundell My '26 Canadian series 'V' parts book states that Superior models started their serial number with V100001. So yours is the 2118th Superior built in Oshawa Canada in the 1926 model year.

Sometime in the past it was converted to a truck from a four door touring car. We have most of the parts to convert it back to it's original state, but it is unique as a truck, so we're not 100% which way we'll go. Thoughts?

Hello wblundell, I have been collecting left over parts from other peoples projects for five years to do something similar. The parts I have been collecting are centered around 1928 because I wanted 4 wheel brakes. There were a lot of depression trucks around the WWII years. Most of them are gone or repaired back into a touring. Looks good.

I just completed the restoration of a 1926 series V touring. I started with a truck conversion as well. I will have the car in the Draggins show in Saskatoon on Easter weekend. Where are you from?
