Does anyone have the braces or a source who reproduces the braces for the front and rear center bumper guards?
I do not want to throw a piece of metal there if the original type is available.
Thank you,
Michael

Note that the rear center guard was not available in 1938.

A friend of mine worked for a metal fabricating company years back. He made the braces for the 1939 Master Deluxe as he used mine for a sample. I would guess steel of that width and thickness is a standard item. The correct bending could be a problem. There is also a small clamp that clamps the brace to the crossmember. I have one of those some place. The rear bolts directly to the rear cross member.
There were four different braces. One for Master and one for the Master Delxe for each year.

That's ok, I have one anyway because it looks cool in my mind. More accessories the better. Any sources for the braces?

Just getting back on the chat as I'm visiting friends and family in England and Germany right now. Joe Epstein of Lowrider fame in CA made mine about 10 years ago. The number to his shop is 323-724-4110. I was extremely pleased and the price was very fair. You can Google Joe and find a lot of information about him, his shop and his cars.

Ralph,
Funny you mention Joe Epstein. I had been talking to Joe for a few weeks and finally made it out to his shop in Montebello. We were waiting for the rear brace to come in.
Thank you for the advice

Thanks, Joe had them at the shop when I visited. As I am using them on a 38, Joe said the front does not mount up directly without some mods, but the rear should connect directly. I thought the front would be no problem as the front center bumper guard was available for the 38, but the rear fold down guard was not available until 1939. I haven't installed yet as I am getting my brakes and parking brake finished before I install my accessories.

I have since visited Joe Epsteins shop and bought a set of braces and have now sold my 38 along with the rear brace and folding bumper guard but still have the front brace.

There are four different front braces. One for 1938 Master. one for 1938 Master Deluxe, one for 1939 Master 85 and one for 1939 Master Deluxe.
The 1939 rear brace will work on any 1938.
