What covers the wood on the top edge of the doors? Sheet metal?

On my sedan the wood is not covered-painted body color.

As per my email reply to your email, the wood on the top of the doors is exposed. As Steve mentioned, the exposed area of the wood has body color overspray from when the car was painted at the factory.
