Can anyone advise what the radiator shell is?? A little buffing, it looked like a cooper finish underneath which rules out aluminum.
Any suggestions for repairing where the hood rubbed hole in side??
thanks
Dave

If a magnet sticks it's steel. If not then brass. Braze in a patch? The copper color could be an undercoat for the chroming process.

The radiator shell on the 1930 passenger cars was brass. The shell on the 1930 trucks was steel.

The hole in your radiator shell can be patched like new. That is something that the plating shop can do for you if you are going to have the radiator shell rechromed.

To remove the emblem, with the radiator shell off of the car, the emblem can be pushed out of the shell from the back.
