Can anyone help me determine which month this engine was made (at least close time frame) # stamped above fuel pump is 3I07383 and maybe another 7 but it is several spaces after the last 3 with nothing in between. I appreciate any assistance.

Looks like the engine serial number is for 1932 and that the engine was made in February of 1932.

Check out the casting date on the side of the engine and post it here.

If correct, I really lucked out. The car had a 31 engine in it and I bought one in MO. (A 27 2). The original Trans has a date of A 26 2 and the rear end A 27 2. The frame had painted on it Jan 24 32.

Yep, the engine block was cast on January 27, 1932. The engine serial number is a February, 1932 serial number so the casting date of the block fits with the February serial number.

The 32 was built in Atlanta and was the 82nd Special (32569) made there. Being made in Feb can I reasonably assume that if they made 81 Specials before mine, that is about 16 each month (Sept 31 - Jan 32) So mine was made somewhere the first 6 - 10 days of Feb? (trying to come up with a date for the sill tag)

For the car serial number plate, all you need is the month of manufacture (in this case it would be 02). The day of the month is not part of the car serial number.
