I have a friend who recently passed away and his wife, age 78 wants to convert their 1952 Styleline convertible to power steering so that she can drive it. My questions are, is this feasible and if it is, how expensive should it be.
She was told by one shop that the cost would be around $5000.

If you would have to pay to have it done I could see where parts and labor could cost that much.

Google is your best friend, on this one. There is a company out there, Crane Corvette, that supposedly offered a power steering kit for the C1 Corvette, which shares the same front end with our '49 to '54 Chevs.
